The kitchen is well equipped with a large fridge freezer, microwave and coffee machine. The sunny dining area opening from the kitchen has double doors into the garden and is a bright sociable space.

Upstairs are two good sized bedrooms, one super-king and one king. Both have zip and link beds so can be split into twin rooms if you prefer. The master bedroom has a flat screen smart TV, bedroom 2 has a small flat screen TV with freeview.

The doors from the dining area open into the fully enclosed garden with a terrace with table and chairs and a grassy area. There is a rear gate to a footpath providing alternative access to the beach. The owner is happy to welcome one well-behaved dog to stay at the property.

The cottage has a private numbered parking space and there is unrestricted street parking.

There are several excellent bars and restaurants and a very good, dog friendly, dining pub just a short stroll away, as well as a convenience store and post office. There are many and varied walking routes directly from the house as well as good cycle paths and bicycles can easily be hired. Water sports such as kite surfing and paddle boarding are available nearby.

The great draw is of course the miles of sandy beach for which Camber is justly famous but a five or ten minute drive will take you to historic Rye with its interesting shops, cobbled streets, museums and many great eating places. The nature reserve at Rye Harbour and the new visitors’ centre is also a few minutes drive away.

Hastings is only 30 minutes drive and has a very lively fishing part of the town, along with the old town which is like stepping back in time. The seafront offers fun for all ages with crazy golf, arcades and lots of delicious food stops.

Step off the cobbled street and into a welcoming entrance hall before continuing into the stunning contemporary kitchen. With an Aga that operates during the winter, a range oven and hob for summer and a flagstone floor, this is a beautiful space in which to enjoy breakfast or lunch overlooking Rye and beyond. Here you will also find a microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer and every utensil you could need. For evening meals, the dining room offers a more formal alternative with a table to seat eight and feature fireplace. The drawing room is spacious and inviting, with two large sofas, additional chairs and a feature fireplace. There is a small sunroom in the far corner that makes a peaceful spot in which to relax and look out to Camber, Romney Marsh and further afield. On the first floor you’ll find a cosy seating area with cabinets stocked with books and games for rainy days inside. The first bedroom with double bed has a pretty window seat offering far-reaching views and an en-suite bathroom with shower over bath, WC and basin. The second bedroom with king-size bed and en-suite bathroom with WC and shower over bath benefits from very large windows allowing in plenty of light and providing wonderful vistas over Rye and the estuary. Rye is a 13th century cinque port in East Sussex, host to the River Rother, Romney Marshes and a history dating back before the Norman Conquest. A cobbled town offering an excellent array of unusual shops, antique emporiums, galleries selling local artist paintings and pottery, Rye also has a delightful range of tea rooms, restaurants, pubs and historic inns. There is also a weekly general market on Thursdays, as well as a farmers’ market every Wednesday morning. The town played host to BBC film crews for nine weeks in the summer of 2014, while filming of the TV series Mapp and Lucia took place, which has now been made into a DVD. When you arrive at the end of the farm track you will find this gorgeous semi-detached long barn, situated in a secluded and peaceful spot, only a few minutes drive from the centre of Rye. It’s not only the property which will blow you away, the views are incredible and stretch across Romney Marsh.

Upon entering the barn you are welcomed into a large open plan living room, dining room and kitchen with a Scandinavian twist in design. Camber Retreat is a gorgeous 2 bedroom, small pet friendly property, situated a stone’s throw from Camber Sands dunes and beautiful beach. The property is stylishly decorated with modern, quirky art yet still feels comfortable and a true home from home. On the top floor, the large master bedroom boasts its own en-suite and has a small balcony for enabling the fresh sea air to circulate throughout.
